Kenny Omega Responds To Criticism Over AEW Not Signing Deonna Purrazzo
Deonna Purrazzo is headed to IMPACT Wrestling as a vignette aired to mark her impending in-ring debut on Tuesday’s IMPACT.
Purrazzo was released by WWE on April 15 as part of the company-wide cutbacks after spending the majority of her run in NXT with a couple of matches on WWE Raw. Purrazzo never picked up a TV victory, but is a respected name known for her technical prowess in the ring.
One fan in particular was disappointed Purrazzo isn’t joining AEW and decided to come after AEW co-executive Vice President Kenny Omega for “dropping the ball.”
Omega responded to the criticism with the following tweet:
Truly happy for Deonna but I’m incredibly proud of our division and its athletes. You should try watching some of our matches. Start with the recent title match from a few days ago and then honestly tell me we need help.

Some strong thoughts that I very much disagree with, but that’s completely fine. Watch what you enjoy, sir.

Omega has been dealing with criticism of the women’s division since AEW started. In April, he discussed his frustrations with the division. You can view his comments by clicking here.
