McGregor has previously hinted that he would like to box again and the UFC star may have found an opponent on boxing great Oscar De La Hoya.
De La Hoya recently stated in an interview that he could finish the former two division UFC champion in less than two rounds if they were to meet in a boxing match.
“Two rounds,” De La Hoya said on the State Of Combat podcast (via Mike Heck of MMA Fighting). “One thing about me: I went for the kill, always. Look, Conor McGregor… I love him in the octagon. I respect him. I watch him all the time. But the boxing ring is a whole different story.”
The UFC star got wind of what De La Hoya stated and he has accepted the challenge from De La Hoya, as McGregor stated the following on Twitter:
I accept your challenge, Oscar de la Hoya.

It would definitely be an interesting bout if McGregor and De La Hoya were to meet, as McGregor is winless as a professional boxer and De La Hoya hasn’t competed in a decade.
