Five Fights Set For Bellator 170
Five fights have been added to next month’s Bellator 170 card as Chinzo Machida faces Jamar Ocampo, Jack May faces David Cryer, Henry Corrales faces Cody Bollinger, Kevin Casey faces Keith Berry and faces Guilherme Vasconcelos.
Machida (3-1-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated Mario Navarro Jr. at Bellator 160. Machida is also the brother of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida, he enters the fight on a three fight winning streak.
Ocampo (2-0-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he has only competed twice in the last six years. Despite only competing twice in six years, Ocampo has yet to see any of his fights go past the second round.
May (8-3-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he does so while winning only one of his last five fights. May did compete twice under the UFC banner, suffering defeats to both Derrick Lewis and Shawn Jordan.
Cryer (11-2-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he will be doing so on a three fight winning streak. Cryer will be competing at heavyweight in this fight against May, despite the fact that his last bout came at middleweight.
Corrales (12-3-0) is currently winless in Bellator MMA competition, dropping fights to Daniel Straus, Emanuel Sanchez and Patricio Freire. Corrales is also a former King Of The Cage Featherweight Champion, he gave up the belt when he signed with Bellator MMA.
Bollinger (19-6-0-1NC) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he has won two of his last three fights. Bollinger has challenged for the WSOF Bantamweight Title, losing to Marlon Moraes at the WSOF 13.
Casey (9-5-1-2NC) will be competing for the first time since getting released by the UFC, which came after a loss to Sam Alvey at UFC On Fox 21. Casey is also a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion, he defeated Andrew Sanchez to win the belt at RFA 15.
Berry (15-13-0) will be competing for the first time in well over two years and he hasn’t earned a victory in over three years. Berry is also a former Xplode Fight Series Middleweight Champion, he defeated Josh Gibson to win the belt in 2012.
Mercurio (8-7-0) will be competing in Bellator MMA for the first time in over two years, his last fight in the promotion was a loss to Justin Baesman at Bellator 127. Mercurio will also be entering the fight on a two fight winning streak, defeating Gabe Lopez and Matt Lagler.
Vasconcelos (8-3-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated Jordan Dowdy at Bellator 157. Vasconcelos also competed once under the UFC banner, dropping a fight to Luke Zachrich at UFC 175.
Bellator 170 takes place on Saturday, January 21 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz headlining.
