Report: Anthony Hernandez vs. Kevin Holland Now Compete On Newly Announced May 16 UFC Card
Anthony Hernandez and Kevin Holland were already set to meet on a May 16 UFC card, but while they will still meet on May 16, it will happen on the newly announced UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris event.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, as the fight was originally set to happen on the canceled May 16 card.
Hernandez (7-1-0-1NC) has won just one of two thus far in UFC competition, with that lone win coming over Jun Yong Park at UFC Fight Night Shenzhen. Hernandez competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 10, fighting Jordan Wright to a no contest. Hernandez is a former LFA Middleweight Champion, defeating Brendan Allen at LFA 32 to win the gold.
Holland (16-5-0) has won three of five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over John Phillips, Gerald Meerschaert and Alessio Di Chirico. Holland also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 9, defeating Will Santiago Jr. by unanimous decision. Holland has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris takes place on Saturday, May 16 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
