Samoa Joe Returning To WWE Raw Commentary Team
Samoa Joe is still sidelined with a concussion, but he’ll be back on Raw very soon.
Ryan Satin of WWE Backstage reports Samoa Joe will rejoin the Raw commentary team either this week or next. WWE taped two episodes of Raw at the Performance Center in Orlando on Monday and Joe was there doing commentary work.
It is unknown who Joe will replace in the booth.
Joe spent time as an announcer when he was sidelined with a broken thumb at the end of 2019. He returned to the ring in January 2020, aligning himself with Kevin Owens in his battle against Seth Rollins and AOP. Joe reportedly suffered a concussion while filming a commercial for WWE Raw in February, hitting his head during a table spot. Shortly after, he was suspended by WWE for 30-days for violating the wellness policy. Joe’s suspension is up, but he has not been cleared from his injury.
Appearing on WWE After The Bell in January, Joe discussed his time in the Raw commentary booth last year. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
Fightful will have live coverage of WWE Raw beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
