Report: Ben Rothwell Faces Ovince St. Preux On May 13 UFC Fight Card

A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the May 13 UFC Fight Night card as Ben Rothwell faces Ovince St. Preux.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the bout, citing Ion Cutelaba’s inability to get stateside to face OSP as the reason for this new fight.

St. Preux (24-13-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Tyson Pedro and Michal Oleksiejczuk. St. Preux has previously fought for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title, losing to Jon Jones by unanimous decision at UFC 197. St. Preux has suffered thirteen losses as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.

Rothwell (37-12-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night Washington DC. Rothwell hasn’t picked up a victory on a UFC pay-per-view card in over six years, with that last win coming at UFC 164 in August of 2013. Rothwell has picked up thirty seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty eight of them came by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night takes place on Wednesday, May 13 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
