Leslie Smith Says She Got More Cancellation Pay Than UFC Fighters
Former UFC fighter Leslie Smith was supposed to compete at Bellator 241, but that event and a host of others for Bellator MMA was canceled due to the coronavirus.
The UFC was forced to cancel UFC Fight Night London and a bunch of their cards after that as well due to the coronavirus.
Smith scoffs at the $20,000 offered to each fighter from UFC Fight Night London, as Smith claims that Bellator gave her double for the canceled Bellator 241 card.
That information was revealed by Smith through Twitter:
I got more than double $20k from Bellator. And Bellator has a life insurance policy. Feeling good about my career choices right now https://t.co/fZTk8gnmdW

There have been a lot of issues between Smith and the UFC for a while now, as Smith has accused the promotion of ousting her from the promotion after the fighter tried unionizing the UFC’s fighters.
It is unknown yet if other fighters from the canceled Bellator 241 card were paid the same way that Smith was.
