IMPACT Wrestling Results for 4/21/20 Shamrock Outlasts Callihan, New X-Division Champion Crowned

Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage of tonight’s special edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV and Twitch TV featuring week one of the two week Rebellion event!
– We open the show with a video package for tonight’s special edition of IMPACT featuring the first week of two weeks of matches for the Rebellion event before we go to the ring for our opening contest between OvE versus Tommy Dreamer, Rhino and Crazzy Steve.
OvE vs Tommy Dreamer, Rhino & Crazzy Steve
Jake and Tommy get things started off by exchanging standing switches before Tommy locks in a side headlock and they wring each other’s arms and exchange wrist locks. Jake mocks Tommy and plays to the crowd before Tommy and Steve double up on Jake with elbows for two, Steve calling out Fulton who obliges before Steve tags in Rhino. Fulton beats on Rhino in the corner before he comes back with right hands and Fulton chokes him while getting the tag to Dave who enters the match for the first time. Rhino wrings the arm of Dave and tags in Steve before Steve draws him in and hits a drop toe hold into a running clothesline and running back elbows in the corner into a cannonball. Fulton gets the tag, but Steve quickly tags out before he can get a hold of him and Rhino comes back in and gets driven into OvE’s corner before Steve gets back in and gets isolated in the corner by OvE for several minutes.
Tommy comes in and Jake drops him with a flurry of kicks for two before choking him in the ropes and they clothesline each other before getting the tag to Rhino and Dave, Rhino taking out all three members of OvE before hitting a belly to belly suplex for a near fall. Fulton then catches Steve coming off of the top and sends him out onto Tommy at ringside before Rhino spears Dave for the pin and the win.
Winner: Rhino, Tommy Dreamer and Crazzy Steve defeat OvE via pinfall.
– After the match we go to Josh with Madison Rayne where they break down the rest of tonight’s card before we go to a satellite interview Josh did with Eddie Edwards ahead of his triple threat challenge against Tessa Blanchard and Michael Elgin in the main event of next week’s show as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a promo by Crazzy Steve which took place during the commercial before we go to a backstage interview with Michael Elgin who talks about his challenging for Tessa Blanchard’s IMPACT World Championship next week before we go to the ring for our next match between The Rascalz, XXXL and TJP and Fallah Bahh.
The Rascalz vs XXXL vs TJP & Fallah Bahh
TJP and Dez start the match off by exchanging headlocks before TJP hits a springboard side headlock takeover and Dez gets back to his feet before TJP hits a head scissors into a flying armbar. Dez rolls TJP up to break the hold for two before dropkicking him and TJP locks in an octopus stretch out of nowhere before Wentz gets the tag and The Rascalz drop TJP with a double superkick before clearing Bahh and XXXL off of the apron for two. Wentz locks in a Muta lock before TJP gets to the ropes for the break and Wentz hits a running splash in the corner for two before locking in a rear chin lock and Bahh gets the blind tag before Wentz drops TJP with kicks. Bahh then knocks Dez off of the apron and hits a running splash with TJP on his back for a near fall that Acey breaks up as we go to commercial.
We come back to Larry in control of Bahh, driving his shoulder into his midsection in the corner before superkicking him for two and dragging him to the corner so he can tag in Acey and they drops Bahh with a double shoulder block before Acey hits a running splash for two. Larry punches Bahh and covers him for two before locking in a rear headlock and Bahh gets to his feet before punching his way free and Larry drops him with a right hand for two before TJP and Acey go at it until the referee separates them. Bahh then hits a belly to belly suplex before Larry and Acey double up on Bahh with running moves in the corner as we go to commercial.
We return to Acey in control of Bahh, dropping him with an uppercut before Larry comes back in and Bahh comes back with a Samoan drop before getting the tag to TJP who dropkicks Larry and Wentz tags himself in before The Rascalz take TJP out and double up on Larry before making Acey hit a cannonball to Larry. TJP stops Dez and Wentz from hitting their finisher before Bahh hits a running splash and everyone hits a move until Acey sends Dez across the ring with a shoulder block for a near fall when Larry covers him. Larry then sets Dez on the top before Wentz sends Acey out of the ring and superkicks Larry before hitting a springboard cutter and Dez hits a corkscrew senton for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Rascalz defeat XXXL and TJP and Fallah Bahh via pinfall.
– After the match we go backstage to a taped promo by the IMPACT World Tag Team champions The North as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a video recapping the rivalry between the X-Division champion Ace Austin and the challenger Willie Mack ahead of their clash for the gold.
X-Division Championship Match
Ace Austin (c) vs Willie Mack
Ace avoids Willie as soon as the match starts and plays mind games, repeatedly rolling out of the ring before getting back in the ring and rolling right back out when Willie drops him with a stiff forearm. Ace gingerly gets back into the ring before rolling Willie up for two and Willie rocks him with uppercuts before Ace rolls back out of the ring. Willie goes out after Willie and sends him into the railing before chopping him at ringside and sending him back into the ring and missing a cannonball. Ace hits an enzuigiri and sets Willie on the top turnbuckle backwards before putting him in the tree of woe and choking him. Willie hits a Samoan drop when he catches Ace in midair before hitting a standing moonsault and punching Ace in mount until he gets to the ropes.
Ace sends Willie throat first into the bottom rope before choking him and Willie comes back with a sit-out powerbomb when he catches Ace coming off of the top for a near fall. They exchange strikes until Willie drops Ace with a stiff forearm and whips him into the corner before hitting several running moves in the corner into a cannonball. Willie hits Ace with a stunner before Ace hits The Fold for a near fall and Willie hits a pop-up cutter for a near fall. Willie hits a coast to coast missile dropkick before missing a diving frog splash and Ace nearly wins with a leverage pin. Willie then meets Ace on the top turnbuckle before Ace crotches him up top and Willie hits a stunner up top before hitting the Six Star Frog Splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Willie Mack defeats Ace Austin via pinfall to become the new X-Division champion.
– After the match Willie celebrates with Rich Swann who comes out onto the stage before we go to Ken Shamrock getting ready for his match against Sami Callihan in tonight’s main event as we go to commercial.
– We come back to Rich congratulating Willie and saying that just because he’s champion doesn’t mean they can’t focus on the tag belts. Johnny Swinger then interrupts them before Willie tells him they were never a team and they leave before Johnny can leave and come back with his car. We then go to a video package for Kylie Rae ahead of her match against Kiera Hogan.
Kylie Rae vs Kiera Hogan
Kylie takes Kiera down before rolling her up and Kiera escapes to the ropes for two before Kiera kicks Kylie in the midsection and Kylie sends Kiera into the middle turnbuckle. Kiera hits a diving leg drop when she traps Kylie in the ropes for two before kicking her and choking her in the corner. Kiera then hits a snap mare for two as we go to commercial.
We come back to Kylie in control until Kiera sends her face first into the middle turnbuckle and a running boot in the corner for two before locking in a rear headlock. They exchange running forearms against the ropes before kicking each other until they collapse onto the mat. Kylie superkicks Kiera for two before Kiera kicks her away and drops her with a roundhouse kick to the side of the head for a near fall. Kylie counters a suplex into one of her own before hitting a cannonball in the corner for a near fall. Kiera then hits a snap mare into a side kick before punching Kylie in Mount and Kylie locks in a cross face out of nowhere for the tap and the win.
Winner: Kylie Rae defeats Kiera Hogan via submission.
– We get a video package recapping the saga between Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock ahead of their clash in tonight’s main event.
Sami Callihan vs Ken Shamrock
They brawl at ringside before Sami suplexes Ken onto the floor and sends him into the railing before chopping him and Ken comes back with punches. Ken hits a snap mare and kicks Sami in the spine before sending him into the post and the railing. Ken kicks the legs of Sami and sends him back into the railing before dragging his face across the top of the railing before tossing him back into it. Ken then hits a running dive off of the stage before they end up backstage as we go to commercial.
Back from the break Ken is searching for Sami before Sami throws dust in his face and hits him with a chair before bending a trash can lid across his head. Sami chokes Ken with a chain before Ken kicks Sami away and punches Sami in mount until OvE come to the save and attack Ken. Sami saves Ken and takes out his former OvE brethren before they agree to finish things outside as spaghetti western music plays in the background. They then brawl outside beside a semi truck until Sami passes out from pain when Ken applies an ankle lock for the win.
Winner: Ken Shamrock defeats Sami Callihan via referee stoppage.
