NWA VP David Lagana Says They Won’t Film NWA Powerrr Without A Live Audience
Wrestling is now an essential business and some companies are running empty arena shows and taping weeks of content. But don’t expect NWA to follow suit with NWA Powerrr.
NWA Vice President David Lagana joined MuscleManMalcolm, where he was asked about the possibility of the NWA running without a live audience.
“We’re trying to follow the way of the world. For us, it’s gotta be the safety of not only our talents and staff, but also our fans. If you watch NWA Powerrr, a large amount of the show is based around the live audience. To do a show in that format without a live audience, it doesn’t work. I don’t think we’ll be doing Powerrr until we have an audience. That doesn’t mean we won’t be producing content, it just means we won’t be doing Powerrr in its current incarnation,” he said.
The NWA has posted old shows at 6:05 p.m. ET Tuesdays on YouTube, which is typically reserved for new episodes of Powerrr. The company was set to hold the 2020 Crockett Cup in Georgia this Sunday, April 19, but was forced to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company will air the 2019 Crockett Cup on YouTube instead.
