Kofi Kingston: It’s Easier For New Day To Work Without A Crowd Than Others, We Entertain Ourselves

For almost a month now, WWE has held shows in an empty Performance Center with no live audience.

The different environment has been obvious on television and for the performers, it’s drastically different without the energy from the crowd. Keith Lee, Xavier Woods, and others have discussed how things hurt a little bit more as the adrenaline boost isn’t always there and when it comes to promos, there is a lack of interaction and crowd participation.

While some may struggle in the new environment, Kofi Kingston thinks it’s easier for him than others.

“Well It’s definitely different,” Kingston told Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda when asked about performing with no audience. “I think that for us as the New Day it’s probably a lot easier than it is for other people… Yes we thrive on crowd participation and everything that we do we want to involve the crowd. We want to make sure that the live audience is participating and having a great show, but a lot of the times… Myself, E and Woods, we’re just in there trying to entertain each other and it just so happens that there’s a crowd that can get behind it and also be entertained. You kind of have like an internal clock of where you feel the crowd and fans would be. You know? So you feel that energy. And going up against guys like the Usos and Miz and Morrison, they’re so good at what they do and so entertaining, that you can’t help but like still feel that level, that energy.”

Kingston competed in a triple threat ladder match against Jimmy Uso and John Morrison at WrestleMania 36 for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
