WrestleMania 36 Now A Two-Day Event Running On 4/4 & 4/5; Rob Gronkowski Set To Host Both Nights

This year’s WrestleMania will be a historic event in more ways than one.

The show, which had been moved from Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, will now be a two-day event. The first night will take place on April 4 and the second night will be on April 5, the original date for the show.

In addition, former Super Bowl winner Rob Gronkowski has been revealed as the host of WrestleMania 36 on both nights, which will be streamed on pay-per-view and on the WWE Network. Gronkowski had reportedly signed a deal with WWE and is slated to appear on the March 20 episode of SmackDown.

WWE, as well as the rest of the wrestling world, has been hit hard due to the coronavirus outbreak which has affected countries all across the globe. The coronavirus not only forced WWE to change locations for its flagship event, but also forced Raw and SmackDown to also take place at the Performance Center with no fans allowed. As with both Raw and SmackDown, only essential personnel will be on the closed set during the production of WrestleMania.

From WWE:

WrestleMania 36 is now set for a historic two-night presentation on WWE Network with former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski hosting The Show of Shows at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5.

The 2020 edition of The Showcase of the Immortals will make history as the first to span across multiple days.

Earlier this week, it was announced WrestleMania 36 would emanate from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and only essential personnel will be on the closed set during production.

Titles and legacies are on the line as WrestleMania 36 features a loaded slate of matches. Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre challenges WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, Universal Champion Goldberg defends his title against Roman Reigns, and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch looks to fight off the rise of Shayna Baszler. Also, 16-time World Champion John Cena also returns to battle “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles hopes to put the “final nail in the coffin” of The Undertaker’s career and much more.

Gronkowski revealed the new format and his role as host on his Twitter earlier today. The three-time Super Bowl champion also promised more details when he appears on SmackDown this Friday on FOX at 8/7 C.

In addition, a WWE rep noted “WrestleMania will not only take place at WWE’s training facility but will include multiple locations over two nights. All locations will be closed sets with only essential personnel.”

Fightful will have live coverage of both nights of WrestleMania 36.
