It Will Take A Lot For Graham Boylan To Cancel Cage Warriors 113

It would seem like the coronavirus has wrecked a lot of MMA promotions plans for at least the next month or so, but Cage Warriors refuses to go away and will run an event this Friday.

Graham Boylan, who is the Cage Warriors President, says it would take a lot for him to cancel the upcoming Cage Warriors 113 card.

“It will take tanks, trucks and lots of men with guns to stop this event going on,” Boylan said on Eurobash (via Peter Carroll of MMA Fighting).

This Friday’s Cage Warriors show is one of only a very few MMA events still set to run this weekend, with Jungle Fight 103, Thunder Fight 23 and GFC 25 being those other events scheduled right now.

Boylan feels that it is important for those who have been affected by the coronavirus to have something normal happen this weekend, which is why he wants to card to continue on, even behind closed doors.

“This situation is changing at such pace that everything we do today is probably torn apart tomorrow,” Boylan said. “We’re going through it, UFC have been through it and we’re all just pulling together to try and make things happen and make things work for the athletes. There needs to be some normal in a time of chaos. There needs to be some calm to keep things moving forward for everybody in some way, shape or form. We’re doing our bit to keep the athletes in a situation where they get to be rewarded for the last two months that they’ve put in. I know what these go through and I’m going to fight to the last minute to get this show on for them.”

Cage Warriors 113 takes place on Saturday, March 20 from the BEC Arena in Manchester, England with Morgan Charriere and Darko Banovic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
