Report: WWE Sends Email Recommending Employees Work From Home
The business world continues to adapt to the Coronavirus pandemic by having as many workers as possible work remotely and according to new reports, WWE is no exception.
A new report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider states that WWE has sent out internal emails urging those capable of working from home to do so in an effort to avoid the spread of Coronavirus. WWE reportedly had different divisions working remotely over the last week to test out how effective a remote working environment would be.
WWE has already been changing the format of its television shows, beginning to present them live from the WWE Performance Center without an audience. We saw our first example of that on the March 13th episode of Friday Night SmackDown that will continue on March 16 with WWE Raw also being presented live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida without an audience.
A separate report from PWInsider noted that both The Undertaker and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin were already in Orlando to keep their scheduled appearances on the March 16 episode. Fightful has been able to confirm this report.
In regards to the status of WrestleMania 36, while no official decision has been made as of yet, the CDC has updated their guidance for containing the Coronavirus and have advised that for the next eight weeks, there be no gatherings of 50 people or more which dampens the idea of a traditional WrestleMania taking place on April 5.
Fightful has reached out to WWE in regards to the corporate employees receiving an email to work from home. We will update this story with any and all new information.
