Great Muta’s Status For Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4 Unclear Due To Issues Between GCW & Sonny Onoo
Japanese wrestling legend The Great Muta might not be coming to Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4 after some roadblocks had appeared.
GCW posted a lengthy statement on Twitter saying that recent developments between GCW and Sonny Onoo, who had been allegedly handling Muta’s booking as of some time ago. The issues between both sides have now made Muta’s status for the show unclear. According to the statement, GCW had reached a deal with Muta in November 2019 to appear and wrestle at the show and then later, a deal was made to have Muta also appear at WrestleCon as a guest of GCW.
Both sides reached a deal, but in December, GCW was contacted by Onoo telling the promotion that he will be handling Muta’s bookings and that he was looking for more work. GCW obliged and afterwards, Onoo told them that a vendor made an offer for Muta to appear at WrestleCon, meaning that Muta would only be taking the original deal where he would just appear at Spring Break for GCW.
The vendor in question was then revealed to be Onoo himself, who GCW alleged was trying to “make GCW pay Muta to appear as Sonny’s guest at WrestleCon, where he would rake in the profits at our expense.” Onoo has since then failed to relay GCW’s messages to Muta and now GCW is looking to bring in a replacement, but noted they are still willing to talk to Onoo in an effort to bring in Muta to the event.

Some unfortunate stuff, but it was completely out of our hands… Devastated that an agreement couldn’t be met, because of selfishness and Carny Bullshit… https://t.co/MVFQVRQg4s

In a later tweet, GCW revealed a number of perks that Onoo appeared to demand during the negotiations, including a four-night stay at a Disney Hotel in Orlando, four-day Park Hopper passes to various Disney theme parks, “skybox” tickets to WrestleMania on April 5, a direct deposit to Onoo’s personal PayPal account and more.
