Deiveson Figueiredo Wins UFC Norfolk Main Event, But Not The UFC Flyweight Title

UFC Fight Night Norfolk is in the books and in the main event, it was Deiveson Figueiredo scoring a second round TKO victory over Joseph Benavidez.

Fightful provided live coverage of the main event, as well as the entire card, and the following is the highlights from the final round of the main event between Figueiredo and Benavidez:

Round Two: The round begins with Figueiredo attacking Benavidez with a spinning back kick, Benavidez goes after Figueiredo by landing some leg kicks. Figueiredo then cracks Benavidez with an overhand right, Figueiredo starts landing counter rights on a swinging Benavidez. Figueiredo levels Benavidez with a right and he pounces on him with more strikes until the referee jumps in.

Official Result: #3 Deiveson Figueiredo def. #1 Joseph Benavidez by TKO via strikes (1:54, R2), but Figueiredo isn’t the UFC Flyweight Champion due to missing weight

However, it may prove to be a hollow victory for Figueiredo in the end because the fighter missed weight for the title bout, making him ineligible to walk away with the flyweight championship.

There is no word at this time as to the future of the UFC Flyweight Championship, which is now vacant as of this writing.
