Report: Amanda Nunes To Defend Women’s Featherweight Title At UFC 250

Two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes has yet to defend the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title, which she won by defeating Cyborg at UFC 232.

However, a women’s featherweight title defense could be in Nunes’ future as Combate reports she could be defending the gold at UFC 250. No opponent has been determined at this time, but a pair of women’s featherweight bouts taking place this weekend at UFC Fight Night Norfolk could determine who that challenger is gonna be. At UFC Fight Night Norfolk, it is going to be Felicia Spencer facing Zarah Fairn and Megan Anderson facing Norma Dumont.

Nunes (19-4-0) will enter the potential title bout riding a ten fight winning streak and seven of those contests were title bouts. Nunes hasn’t suffered a defeat in over five years, with that last loss coming to Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in September of 2014. Nunes would be competing in her fourth straight co-main event bout and it has been almost two years since the double champion headlined a card.

UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, May 9 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Henry Cejudo and Jose Aldo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
