Report: UFC 247 Preliminary Card Brings In Over 1.4 Million Viewers

UFC 247 took place a little over a week ago from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and in the main event, it was UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defeating Dominick Reyes by unanimous decision.

A four fight preliminary card took place before the pay-per-view card and that brought in 1,491,000 viewers according to MMA Fighting. The fights that took place on that portion of the card saw Trevin Giles defeat James Krause, Khaos Williams defeat Alex Morono, Lauren Murphy defeat Andrea Lee and Mario Bautista defeat Miles Johns. It was the bout between Lee and Murphy that brought in the most viewers, with 2,074,000 people checking out that encounter.

The 1,491,000 viewership number is a great one for the UFC, because the show was split between ESPN News and ESPN due to the Duke vs. North Carolina NCAA Basketball game going into overtime.

There was some stiff competition going up against the UFC 247 preliminary card, including an NBA Basketball game on ABC and a new episode of Live PD on A&E.

Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Auckland, which will stream live entirely on ESPN+ this Saturday Night.
