Johnny Gargano Turns On Tommaso Ciampa, Costs Him The NXT Championship At TakeOver: Portland
As the saying goes, with friends like this, who needs enemies?
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa maybe destined to fight Forever. At NXT TakeOver: Portland, Johnny Gargano did the unthinkable, turning on his friend, Tommaso Ciampa after Ciampa had just gone through a brutal war with Adam Cole.
Adam Cole threw everything but the kitchen sink at Ciampa in Portland Oregon, but Ciampa would not stay down. Finally, with the referee down, Ciampa would look to utilize the NXT Championship belt that the Undisputed ERA had inserted into play for Adam Cole to use. That is when Johnny Gargano struck, grabbing the title from Ciampa and striking him over the head with it.

While Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa engaged in a bitter rivalry in the past, it appeared that they had put all of that behind them and were once again a cohesive unit. It is very apparent now that Johnny still has a score to settle with “The Blackheart.” This time, however, it appears that both men have shifted their moral alignments.
