It was announced on WWE Backstage in early February that Thatcher has been signed to WWE. Thatcher is a longtime veteran on the Independent scene, having worked for EVOLVE, MLW, PROGRESS, wXw and more. He is a former wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, wXw World Tag Team Champion alongside WALTER. As for WALTER, this will be his first match for the promotion since competing on the wXw 19th Anniversary show this past December.
Thatcher and WALTER aren’t the only wrestlers signed to WWE that will compete for the promotion that week. Former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush has been added to the 16 Carat Gold Tournament field proper.
