Nate Diaz May Take Legal Action After Miami Herald Retracts Police Altercation Story
Nate Diaz’s next battle may not be taking place in the Octagon, but it could instead be taking place in the courtroom.
The Miami Herald recently retracted a story stating that the UFC star had gotten into an altercation with Miami police.
Zach Rosenfield, who is Diaz’s publicist, issued the following statement to MMA Junkie stating that the Miami Herald’s story was false:
“The story is 100 percent and inequitably inaccurate. Nate has been in Stockton since the Tuesday after the Super Bowl (held Feb. 2 in Miami Gardens), and there is no possible way that what is being reported is relatable to him. At no point did Nate have any interactions with Miami law enforcement. Zero issues whatsoever, and he’s never been attached to anything close to domestic violence in his life.”
A short time after the story was retracted, an apology to Diaz was issued by the Miami Herald through Twitter:

Rosenfield, despite the apology, states that Diaz is still considering legal action against the Miami Herald.
“This whole thing is utterly irresponsible, and we are exploring legal action,” Rosenfield said.
In an updated version of the story by the Miami Herald, it was revealed that another professional MMA fighter by the name of Michael Albert Nates was involved in a dispute with the Miami police.
