Scott Dawson: I’m Not Asking To Be Champions, I Just Want Creative Control, Brotha

At the end of January, The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) reportedly requested their release once again from WWE. Their first reported release request came in January 2019, but the duo remains under contract.

On Jan. 31, Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported that Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder were offered new deals that were for more than The OC (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) signed for, which is reportedly $700,000 per year. According to Haynes, he was told Dawson & Wilder are “just ready to go.”

Haynes went on to report that WWE has made “quite a few” offers to The Revival and that the two sides have gone back and forth. Fightful Select reported on Jan. 10 that WWE had offers of reduced dates as well.

Dawson & Wilder recently competed in a fatal four-way tag team bout for a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WWE Super ShowDown. The bout, which also featured Lucha House Party and Heavy Machinery, was won by John Morrison & The Miz.

On social media, a fan pointed out the depth in the tag team division and mentioned to Dawson that he can’t always be champion. Dawson offered up the following reply:

The Revival didn’t wrestle on the most recent episode of WWE SmackDown, but they were on the show, attacking Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman.

Dawson’s WWE contract is up in April while Wilder’s was extended due to injury time missed.
