Report: Dequan Townsend Replaces Gadzhimurad Antigulov At UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho
Gadzhimurad Antigulov has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho for undisclosed reasons, replacing him against Devin Clark is Dequan Townsend.
Mike Pendleton of BJPenn.com first reported the news and the bout will still be a part of the preliminary card.
Clark (10-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC bouts, with the latest contest being a second round submission loss to Ryan Spann at UFC Fight Night Tampa. Clark has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them came by way of decision. Clark has competed fourteen times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.
Townsend (21-10-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, dropping bouts to the duo of Dalcha Lungiambula and Bevon Lewis. Townsend challenged for three titles on the regional scene before coming to the UFC and the fighter lost all of those bouts. Townsend has suffered ten losses as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho takes place on Saturday, February 15 from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
