Jeff Novitzky Says Jon Jones Had The Highest Volume Of Drug Tests Of Any Athlete In 2019
A soon to be fighting Jones has had multiple issues with drugs and failed drug tests in the past, which has led the fighter to be the most tested athletes in any sport according to UFC Vice President Of Athlete Health & Performance Jeff Novitzky.
Novitzky would post the following recently on Twitter:
In 2019, @JonnyBones was subject to 42 no-notice drug tests by 3 separate entities (USADA, CSAC and NSAC). In my 20 years experience in the anti-doping world, this is the highest volume of yearly tests that I have ever seen on one athlete, in any sport.

The fighter has failed multiple drug tests in the past, most notably before UFC 200 and in-line with UFC 214, plus UFC 232 was moved from Nevada to California after an abnormality with Jones’ drug tests caused issues with the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC).
UFC 247 takes place on Saturday, February 8 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
