Drew McIntyre: I Don’t Care How The Fans Respond To Me As Long As They Have Fun While I’m Out There

At the 2020 Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre took another step forward into fulfilling the prophecy of him being “The Chosen One” as was declared by Vince McMahon in 2009. However, now he is that audience’s chosen one.

Speaking to BT Sport after his Royal Rumble victory on January 26th, Drew spoke openly about feeling like the final puzzle pieces are finally coming together for him and saying that what he first returned to Monday Night Raw alongside Dolph Ziggler in 2018, there was definitely something missing.

“Things are coming together, the final pieces, like something was missing since I came back to Raw,” Drew began. “It was there when I was gone from the company. It was there in NXT, wasn’t quite there since I came back. And I just wasn’t a hundred percent myself. You know, I was very serious all the time. And I always say it’s very hard for the fans to relate to a 6’5 hairy, gigantic Scotsman who’s scowling all the time and now, I’ve had the microphone time and just loosened up and having fun. And I’m not necessarily a good or bad guy. I’m just being neat. I’m having fun. And if I’m having fun, generally they’re having fun. And I don’t care how they respond as long as they have a good time when I’m out there and in the ring, I’m still going to kick butt.”

Drew McIntyre has already challenged Brock Lesnar for Wrestlemania 36 in Tampa, Florida and the two will face on April 5 inside Raymond James Stadium.
