Matt Hardy: Age Is Irrelevant, Talent Is What’s Relevant
Matt Hardy is currently being utilized in WWE as a veteran name that occasionally puts over young talent on television. Now, Matt Hardy is adding his input to the debate whether or not young guys should always go over older talents.
Speaking on his YouTube channel during one of his Thoughts From The Throne videos, Matt Hardy discussed the 2020 Royal Rumble and the return of Edge. Matt said he was very happy to see his old friend and rival be able to return and retire on his terms but his inclusion in the match also leads to the debate of whether or not WWE should focus so much on veteran talent.
For Matt, he feels that age is irrelevant and whether or not you can contribute segments of value to the television show is all that matters.
“Should old guys beat young guys or should the young guys, the young talent, always beat the older talent or the veterans? You know, it’s like a big debate that goes on and it comes down to this, age is really irrelevant,” said Hardy. “If you can still go in the ring,f you’re still entertaining, and you’re still good and you have a lot to contribute to the show on a full-time basis, age is irrelevant. Talent is what’s relevant. If you’re talented, you should be utilized to the best of your ability.”
