Cris Cyborg Captures Featherweight Championship At Bellator 238 | HIGHLIGHTS

Cris Cyborg and Scott Coker are back in business again.

Over eight years after Cyborg last fought for the Coker-led Strikeforce, she made her debut for his Bellator MMA brand. In her way was dominant Bellator Featherweight Champion Julia Budd, who had been the only holder of that title in history.

After Saturday night, there was another. Cris Cyborg put Julia Budd away in the fourth round after an overwhelming combination led to her finishing the champion. Cyborg has now held championships in Bellator, UFC, Invicta and Strikeforce.

The Featherweight Grand Prix tourney continued, with former Bantamweight Champion Darrion Caldwell taking to the cage to face the exciting Adam Borics. As it turns out, the move up in weight for Caldwell was a good one, as he advanced to the semifinals by choking out Borics in the first round. Caldwell will face AJ McKee in the next round, with the winner moving to the finals.

Sergio Pettis also made his Bellator debut, taking on the overmatched Alfred Khashakyan. Overmatched may be perhaps an understatement, as Pettis cracked his opponent with a huge punch before putting him to sleep with a tight guillotine choke.

Top Bellator featherweights Juan Archuleta and Henry Corrales would also do battle on the show to jockey for position in the 145 pound division. Archuleta emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

Curtis Millender also picked up a unanimous decision win on the prelim card over Moses Murrietta, while Aaron Pico knocked out Daniel Carey in the second round.
