Rusev: Vince McMahon Told Me ‘This Is Great Acting’ After First Few Weeks Of Lana-Lashley Story
Rusev has been able to show off a range of emotions since September when it was revealed his wife Lana was cheating on him on-screen with Bobby Lashley. Since then, Rusev has had to deal with seeing the two make out in public, a restraining order, a divorce, and a wedding.
Off-screen and on the side, Rusev had been attending acting classes and starred in the movie “Another Version of You” in 2018. Speaking to Reel Talker, Rusev discussed how acting prepared him for his current storyline.
“Acting got me prepared for promos, especially for this program. I’ve never been complimented for my promos before. I remember after the first few weeks, Vince [McMahon] pulled me aside and was like, ‘This is great acting performance.’ I’ve never been complimented for my acting before, it’s always been about my work in the ring. To hear that I’m closing the full circle with the wrestling, look, and promo part. It’s good to hear. The acting has helped with my promos,” he said.
Along with going to acting classes to help with his promos, Rusev has changed up his look over the years. He’s lost weight, showing off a more tone body, and cut his hair. The decision to cut his hair seemingly came on a whim while he was out of action.
“I don’t know why I cut my hair. I got so tired of it and I feel like, back before I cut it, nothing was going on in WWE. I was out for shoulder surgery, so I got tired of it. So I just cut my hair. And it inspired my best decision ever.”
Rusev teamed with Liv Morgan on the latest episode of WWE Raw, losing to Lana & Bobby Lashley in a mixed tag team match. He is currently scheduled to participate in the Men’s Royal Rumble. You can find the full list of participants by clicking here.
