Will Ospreay Wants ROH To Bring Back The Pure Title With Updated Rules
Will Ospreay was bored on Twitter so he decided to reminisce about past championships.
The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion asked fans about their favorite championships, revealing he always liked the ROH Pure Title. The ROH Pure Championship was first won by AJ Styles in 2004 and unified with the ROH World Championship in 2006.
The championship came with a unique set of rules including wrestlers getting three rope breaks, no closed fists, and 20 counts on the floor.
Bored.
What’s one of your favourite titles in wrestling?
Gonna go for an underrated one for me,
I loved the ROH Pure Championship.Things kinda different now but I love the design of it and the rules that went with it. Be cool if they bought it back with updated rules. pic.twitter.com/p3yB6J6C5o

The ROH Twitter account noticed Ospreay’s tweet and asked if they should bring the belt back. Ospreay once again pitched the idea of updating the rules, but said he’s game to challenge for the title should it return.
Might need to update the rules a little bit. But I think the lineage and history of bouts behind it could bring out a whole new style in pro wrestling that’s been missing.
But if you do…..I’m game. pic.twitter.com/No0UBPXs2d
