Report: Ava Knight Faces Emilee Gettys At Bellator 238
A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 238 as Ava Knight is in action against Emilee Gettys.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, which is expected to be a part of the main card.
Knight (1-0-0) made her professional MMA debut last year at Bellator 228, defeating Shannon Goughary by third round TKO. Knight has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, so the fighter’s pro experience serves as her overall MMA experience. Knight does have a plethora of professional boxing experience and is a former IBF Women’s Flyweight Champion.
Gettys (3-4-0) is making her Bellator MMA debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a three bout winning streak. Gettys hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, as her last loss came at Valor Fighting Challenge 53 in November of 2018. Gettys has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and none of her bouts have ended by way of KO/TKO.
Bellator 238 takes place on Saturday, January 25 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Julia Budd and Cyborg headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
