Young Bucks: Fans Are Just So Used To Getting Exactly What They Need At The Snap Of A Finger Now

Since AEW formed a year ago, the four Co-Executive Vice Presidents (Cody, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks) have discussed wanting to do long-term stories. Chris Jericho recently mentioned that he knows what he is doing in AEW through February and isn’t worried about plans changing.

The Young Bucks continue to preach patience, wanting fans to know that AEW will continue to build long-term stories.

“We want long-term, nuanced stories, and sometimes you have to struggle and suffer a little bit to get to the climax of the story,” Matt Jackson said in an interview with Commercial Appeal. “Wrestling fans are just so used to getting exactly what they need at the snap of a finger now.”

AEW will be in Southaven, MS on Wednesday for Dynamite, where the promotion will pay tribute to legends of Memphis Wrestling. Legends to be honored include Randy Savage, Brian Christopher, The Rock N Roll Express and more.

“I think the idea is Tony (Khan) wanted to do a 10-bell salute for all of the fallen brothers,” said Matt. “It would have been great to have ‘The King’ [Jerry Lawler], but obviously he’s working elsewhere.”

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
