Andrade Wants To Be The Face Of Latinos For WWE Like Rey Mysterio And Eddie Guerrero

Even with Rey Mysterio back in the fold with WWE, Andrade is preparing himself to become the new face of Latinos in WWE.

Andrade has been prominently featured on WWE programming ever since he left NXT and in recent weeks, won the United States Championship from Mysterio. With Mysterio’s time in WWE possibly coming to an end, Andrade is looking to take the torch from Mysterio as the company’s top Latino face just as Mysterio did with the late Eddie Guerrero.

“Always Rey Mysterio was the face of Latinos [and] in the past Eddie Guerrero,” Andrade told The New York Post in a phone interview. “Now is my moment to be the face of the Latinos in WWE. It looks strong to win the title, no? I’m more strong with more opportunities and focused on the next title.”

Just as Mysterio and Guerrero were able to cut promos in both English and Spanish, Andrade is practicing his English to be able to cut similar promos to the aforementioned former WWE Champions.

“This is why I’m preparing and I’m working hard, so maybe in one year no more Rey Mysterio. I’m the new face and my legacy starts… I am trying to practice for the future [for] great promos in English and a little Spanish, you know the promos before with Rey Mysterio and, in the past, Eddie Guerrero,” Andrade said.

Andrade recently retained his United States Championship in a rematch against Mysterio on the January 6 edition of Raw, unmasking him once the match was over.
