Matt Schnell Steps Into Fight Rob Font At TUF 24 Finale

Alejandro Perez was forced out of his UFC Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale bout against Rob Font due to injury, but now Font will be taking on late replacement Matt Schnell at the event.

Font (12-2-0) has won two of three fights under the UFC banner, defeating George Roop and Joey Gomez, while suffering a defeat to John Lineker. Font is also a veteran of the CES MMA promotion, where he won six fights and earned a notable win over World Series Of Fighting veteran Saul Almeida. Prior to turning pro in December 2011, Font held the Cage Titans Bantamweight Title as an amateur when he defeated Joe Pingitore to win the belt.

Schnell (9-2-0) was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, as he got to the quarterfinals before losing to Tim Elliot. Schnell is also a former Legacy Fighting Championships Flyweight Champion but will be relinquishing the belt now that he is signed to the UFC. Schnell will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a non-exhibition defeat in well over two years.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale takes place on Saturday, December 3 from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada with Demetrious Johnson and the TUF 24 winner headlining.
