Gervonta Davis vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa Weigh-In Results: Davis Needs Multiple Attempts To Make Weight
After initially having some trouble making weight, Gervonta Davis was able to come in at just under the lightweight limit for his fight against Yuriorkis Gamboa.
At the weigh-ins for their WBA “Regular” lightweight title fight, Davis first arrived at the scales at 136.2 pounds, a little more than a pound over the limit. Davis was given an hour to lose the extra weight and finally came in at 134.8 pounds, meaning the main event of the December 28 Showtime-televised card from Atlanta will go as planned.
The card will also feature Jean Pascal and Badou Jack fighting for the WBA “Regular” light heavyweight title and both men were able to make weight. The opening bout, a super middleweight fight between Jose Uzcategui and Lionell Thompson and both fighters were also able to make weight.

WBA “Regular” lightweight title (135-pound limit):
- Gervonta Davis: 134.8 lbs*
- Yuriorkis Gamboa: 134.6 lbs
* Davis initially came in at 136.2 lbs and was given one hour to lose the excess weight.
WBA “Regular” light heavyweight title (175-pound limit):
- Jean Pascal: 174.8 lbs
- Badou Jack: 174.6 lbs
Super middleweight bout:
- Jose Uzcategui: 167.8 lbs
- Lionell Thompson: 168 lbs
