Alexa Bliss Wanted To Pitch The Idea Of Her Manipulating Nikki Cross
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have become the best of friends on and off-screen. The friendship began to form in May when Cross started to fill in for Bliss in matches. The two slowly began to form a bond on-screen, leading to the duo winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in August.
At the time they began working together, Cross was rarely used on television while Bliss found herself on the outside looking in when it came to the Women’s Title picture. As Bliss explained on WWE Backstage, they pitched the idea to Vince McMahon, but Bliss had a different story originally in mind.
“Nikki and I pitched to work together,” said Bliss. “Nikki went to Vince and was pitching him all these ideas. I remember as soon as she walked out of Vince’s office, I walked in. I told him, ‘I know I’m not going to be in the title picture right now. Let me work with Nikki. Can I work with Nikki? I feel like she has something awesome.’ At the time, I wanted to pitch me manipulating her and getting her to do what I want. But then, instead, Vince gave his blessing and we started to work together. It became this odd tag team that somehow works. It’s amazing and we travel together and work on everything together. It’s been such a fun dynamic. I’m super happy with us both going to Vince and everyone, they gave us that opportunity.”
After a brief hiatus, Bliss returned on the Nov. 29 WWE SmackDown to save Cross from a two-on-one attack at the hands of Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose.
Cross recently commented on her partnership with Bliss, saying it was life imitating art. You can view her full comments by clicking here.
