Chris Jericho Says He Wore Sin Cara Mask As ‘Sign of Respect’

According to Chris Jericho, he wore Sin Cara's mask this past Monday on Raw as a "sign of respect" and not as an attempt to mock his WWE co-worker after they got into a well-publicized fight in Europe.

Wearing a Sin Cara mask, Jericho came ringside during the No DQ main event between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, and Jericho interfered to help his "best friend" Owens win the match.

Jericho took to Twitter to respond to a fan who praised Y2J for "trolling" Sin Cara by donning the luchador's mask:

Jericho also addressed wearing the mask on the latest episode of his podcast, Talk Is Jericho, referring to "a great finish to the Owens/Rollins mask with the Sin Cara mask, which was a F you to the internet community that knows everything but doesn’t know shit.

"Sin Cara’s a great guy, he’s a good friend of mine and he actually lent me that mask, so thanks to Sin Cara for lending me his mask."

Jericho and Sin Cara got into a physical altercation during the WWE tour of Europe earlier this month.

Others in the wrestling world, meanwhile, found Jericho's choice of headwear to be quite the source of mirth.

Another of Jericho's fellow Raw roster members certainly seemed to find his mask choice amusing. Big E tweeted out the following:

Jericho's former tag partner and longtime friend, Lance Storm, also was entertained:
