Colby Covington Suffered Jaw Fracture At UFC 245, Blasts Marc Goddard In Post-Fight Statement
It was believed that Covington suffered a broken jaw at the event, but the UFC issued a statement after sending the fighter to the hospital, saying that “following an addendum medical report completed regarding Colby Covington, it has been determined that he has suffered a non-displaced midline mandible fracture.”
An injured Covington blamed referee Marc Goddard for a lot of what went down at UFC 245, stating the following on Twitter:
Normally people do their fucking in the bedroom, not the octagon @marcgoddard_uk! I go in there to kill or be killed. You robbed me of that. You robbed the people of a fair fight. You should be ashamed of yourself. Fake nut shot. Fake eye poke. Fake stoppage. Fake ref. #ufc245

Goddard, while not directly addressing what Covington stated, would issue the following statement on Twitter:
Raw emotion & the highest of stakes, fighting is like nothing else on earth. I respect each & every person I stand between & I will give you all I’ve got. I am a human being. Thank you to all who understand what I have put into this game, that will never stop. God bless. pic.twitter.com/QryagWadpi

There is no word yet as to what is next for the former interim welterweight champion, but more should be known as the injury heals up.
