Report: Francis Ngannou vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik Headlines UFC Fight Night Columbus
A heavyweight division attraction will headline UFC Fight Night Columbus as #2 Francis Ngannou is in action against #5 (Tied) Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the main event encounter.
Ngannou (14-3-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos. Ngannou is headlining his fourth straight UFC event and holds an overall record of 3-1-0 in UFC main event bouts. Ngannou has previously challenged for the UFC Heavyweight Title, losing to Stipe Miocic by unanimous decision at UFC 220.
Rozenstruik (10-0-0) has already won four bouts in the UFC, with those wins coming over Junior Albini, Allen Crowder, Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem. Rozenstruik has previously headlined one UFC card, which was a fifth round knockout win over the aforementioned Overeem at UFC Fight Night Washington DC. Rozenstruik has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Columbus takes place on Saturday, March 28 from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
