Jorge Masvidal & Colby Covington Blast Each Other

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington battles UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman for the gold tomorrow night at UFC 245.

Outside of Usman, another longtime rival of Covington’s is Jorge Masvidal and Masvidal recently went on Twitter to blast his former American Top Team (ATT) teammate.

Covington, who has been going back and forth with Masvidal for awhile now, says that he’ll fight Masvidal one day and that battle may not be happening in the UFC.

“That’s a fight that intrigues me big time,” Covington said to MMA Fighting. “He tries to call himself ‘Street Jesus,’ but he’s really ‘Street Judas.’ It’s an easy fight. He knows what happens when I get my hands on him. I break him. We’re going to fight one way or another. Whether it’s in the UFC Octagon, or a backyard of Dan Lambert’s house, or in the parking lot at American Top Team. I just hope that it’s in the UFC Octagon, so he can get his medical bills paid by the UFC, and I don’t want to go to jail for assault for beating his ass.”

The former interim welterweight champion also says what Masvidal has been saying about him is nothing but blatant lies.

“To attack my character and the kind of person I am, just make up fake, blatant lies and there’s no credibility to them,” Covington said. “Like that hurts more than anything because people actually believe him and they follow him and what he says is true. To make up a joke of a lie about your coach, who just picked your side – and I’m okay with that – but then to say I didn’t pay your coach? I have the receipts. I have all the receipts. I can prove you wrong. You want to come out and make this a big deal?”

UFC 245 takes place on Saturday, December 14 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
