Lance Storm Discusses His Role As WWE Producer, Wants To Work With Shorty G
Lance Storm officially returned to WWE this week as a producer. Storm recently closed down his Storm Wrestling Academy to take on the backstage role in WWE.
Storm was backstage on Monday for Raw and spoke with WWE on Friday at SmackDown about his new role.
“Mentoring, advising, letting people pick my brain for the most part,” replied Storm when asked what he’ll be doing as a producer.
As far as who he’d like to work with, Storm replied, “I like working with everybody, but I’ve been a big fan of Shorty G for awhile. Became a fan of his in NXT, he’s just so talented. He’s one of those guys where ‘why don’t our timelines lineup better?’ I would have loved to been in the ring with him in my prime.”
Storm didn’t rule out wrestling Shorty G, saying “never say never,” but would have preferred to wrestle him in his prime when he could better keep up.
Storm also stated, “There are so many talented people here, it’s great. A lot of these people I’ve coached on different levels back when I was doing guest spots in the [WWE Performance Center] or when developmental was in Louisville and I was teaching guys like Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Lashley. It’s really rewarding, getting to plant those seeds early and watch them grow. There’s something about this industry that you fall in love with. As long as someone is doing it great, it’s awesome. Even being a small part of that and seeing it grow is awesome.”
Storm helped train the likes of Tyler Breeze, Tenille Dashwood, and Peyton Royce at his Storm Wrestling Academy.
