Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua 2 Weigh-in Results
Though no one is sure if the script for Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua 2 will be the same as the first one, one thing that’s definitely different is how both fighters weighed in for the rematch.
One day before their fated world heavyweight title fight in Saudi Arabia, the two fighters stepped into the scales for the official weigh-ins. Ruiz, who scored one of the biggest upsets of 2019 when he stopped Joshua in June, came in at 283.7 lbs, roughly 15 pounds heavier than what he came in for the first fight. Joshua, on the other hand, came in at 237 lbs, 10 pounds lighter than the first time. The WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles will be on the line when the two square off tomorrow.
The rest of the main card will see several top heavyweight contenders and prospects, such as Dillian Whyte, Michael Hunter, Alexander Povetkin and Filip Hrgovic.
Here are the official weights (pounds in parenthesis) for the main card, set to start at 12 p.m. ET on DAZN on December 7:
- Andy Ruiz Jr. (283.7) vs. Anthony Joshua (237.8)
- Alexander Povetkin (229.3) vs. Michael Hunter (226.8)
- Dillian Whyte (271.1) vs. Mariusz Wach (270)
- Filip Hrgovic (241.1) vs. Eric Molina (248)
