UFC President Dana White has spoken with Fury and he says that Fury is interested in fighting.
“It’s interesting,” White said to 106.7FM (via Nolan King of MMA Junkie). “He and I talked the other day. We talked. So he really is interested in fighting, so I respect that. We’ll see. We’ll see what happens.”
Fury has already transitioned over to pro wrestling, having defeated Braun Strowman by countout at WWE Crown Jewel 2019.
White would like to see what happens with Fury’s pro boxing career before a potential transition to MMA takes place.
“Let’s see what happens with his boxing career,” White said. “He’s got this rematch coming up with Wilder, which is obviously huge and a fun fight for the heavyweight division. You’ve got (Andy) Ruiz and (Anthony) Joshua fighting this weekend … So we’ll see how that goes, and we’ll see what happens.”
The boxing star has previously stated that former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor could train him for a potential professional MMA debut.
