Two Bouts Added To Bellator 237, Kanna Asakura In Action

Two more bouts have been added to the upcoming Bellator 237 card as Kanna Asakura faces Jayme Hinshaw and Shoma Shibisai faces Sergei Shemetov.

Rizin officials announced the bouts earlier today during a press conference.

Asakura (15-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last five fights, with the latest bout being a split decision win over Alesha Zappitella at Rizin 18. Asakura has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and ten of them came by way of KO/TKO.

Hinshaw (4-3-0) is making her Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Hinshaw is the current King Of The Cage Women’s Atomweight Champion, defeating Melissa Karagianis by fourth round submission to claim the gold.

Shibisai (5-2-0-1NC) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout, but the fighter has won one of two in Rizin competition. Shibisai has competed a total of eight times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts got past the opening round.

Shemetov (8-6-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Shemetov is also returning to action for the first time in almost four years, with his last bout happening in December of 2015.

Bellator 237 takes place on Saturday, December 28 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Fedor Emelianenko and Rampage Jackson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
