Nashville Predators Defenseman Ryan Ellis Reflects On His First WWE Event

Nashville Predators star defenseman Ryan Ellis attended WWE Raw on Monday and spoke with Charly Caruso in a WWE YouTube exclusive. WWE Raw emanated from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, home of the Predators.

During the interview, Ellis discussed the “craziness” of his first WWE event, saying, “I used to watch a lot as a kid, but it’s my first time being here. Something pops up every time.” Ellis specifically pointed to Rusev attacking Lashley and Lana getting arrested. Both Rusev and Lana are big fans of the Predators.

When asked if anything in hockey is as crazy as what happens in a WWE ring, Ellis replied, “No, I just saw a guy jump off the top rope and land on another guy. It’s pretty impressive, athletic. I wouldn’t want to be in there. I’m gonna talk to a couple of guys backstage and pick up what I can do on the ice.”

Ellis has four fighting majors in his nine-year NHL career, including a recent scrap against Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin on Nov. 4. The Predators alternate captain admitted to being a Rey Mysterio fan growing up and said if WWE is open to having a “35, 40-year-old” on the roster, he would consider joining once he retires from hockey.
