Report: Mauro Ranallo Won’t Be Part Of 11/27 NXT Broadcast
Mauro Ranallo to miss Wednesday’s NXT.
John Pollock of POST Wrestling reports Mauro Ranallo will not be on the call for Wednesday’s NXT. Ranallo called NXT TakeOver: WarGames III on Saturday but missed WWE Survivor Series on Sunday for what was described by Michael Cole as Mauro “blowing out his voice” due to the excitement of NXT TakeOver. Cole said Mauro would be back in the booth on Wednesday.
During NXT TakeOver, WWE SmackDown announcer Corey Graves criticized Ranallo’s commentary on Twitter, saying Ranallo overshadowed his broadcast partners Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness while also noting Ranallo was using too many Chicago rap references. Ranallo deleted his Twitter account after the event.
Just for the record guys, I know you wouldn’t know it, but there’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary.
I’d imagine they have a lot to offer.

Far, far too many.

Ranallo’s battle with mental illness has been well documented. In 2018, Showtime released a documentary titled “Bipolar Rock N Roller” focusing on Ranallo and his mental health struggles.
It is unknown if NXT will utilize a two-person booth or if Ranallo will be replaced for the week. Michael Cole filled in for Ranallo in calling the NXT Championship match at WWE Survivor Series.
