Adam Cole Doesn’t Focus On Ratings, But Admits “Winning Is Cool”
Adam Cole discusses NXT beating AEW in viewership.
For the first time in the Wednesday Night Wars, NXT topped AEW in total viewers on Nov. 20. NXT put together a stacked show, bringing in Raw and SmackDown talent including Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch as WWE builds towards Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.
And while fans get caught up in the viewership numbers every Thursday, NXT Champion Adam Cole doesn’t pay much attention to them. Cole admitted to The Wrap he doesn’t “focus too much on the ratings,” though he did acknowledge that “Winning is cool.”
He continued, “We’re just mainly focused on trying to put on a really exciting, cool show. And last night’s show was just an absolute blast, with the guys from ‘Raw,’ the guys from ‘SmackDown,’ the matches that happened. It was just a really, really cool night and so I’m glad so many people enjoyed it.”
Cole headlined Wednesday’s NXT, defeating Dominik Dijakovic in a ladder match. He is set to compete at NXT TakeOver: WarGames III and WWE Survivor Series.
