The Revival: We Don’t Get The Credit We Deserve For Changing Tag Team Wrestling

The Revival want the credit they deserve.

While Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder are regarded as one of the best tag teams in the world, the duo known as The Revival still feel overlooked in the WWE.

“I don’t know if we’ll ever get any kind of credit for that,” Dawson said when asked on the Sky Sports Lock Up podcast about the revitalization of the tag team division. “This is going to sound a bit egotistical, but I don’t think we get the credit we deserve as far as changing tag team wrestling and bringing it back to where it was. There’s still a time where they throw guys together and have these ‘tag team matches.’ Then you have these actual tag teams. And there’s only a handful of actual tag teams who know how to work the style of tag team wrestling and make it work. I don’t know if we’ll ever get the credit I feel we deserve. But we have WWE 2016 Match of the Year, WWE Tag Team of the Year, first-ever triple crown tag team champions. We have the accolades to back up what we believe.”

Wilder added, “Tag team wrestling gets overlooked a bit, especially nowadays. We take a lot of pride in what we’ve done and we’ve been able to accomplish with those restrictions. I don’t know if we’ll ever get the recognition, but we’ll keep doing what we do to bring glory back to tag team wrestling.”

The Revival is two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champions and one-time WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The duo recently lost their SmackDown Tag Team Titles to The New Day.

Elsewhere during the interview, Dawson & Wilder discussed their disappointment over being drafted to separate brands from Randy Orton, just as the trio seemed to have life. You can view their comments by clicking here.
