Conor McGregor Fined For Bar Attack
The UFC star appeared in the Dublin District Court yesterday and was issued a €1,000 fine ($1,116.16 USD) according to ESPN and will avoid jail time for the incident. Michael Staines, who served as McGregor’s legal representative, pleaded with the court to give McGregor one last chance and spoke about how a harsher punishment could affect McGregor’s professional MMA career.
“I assure you nothing of this nature will happen again regarding me,” McGregor told the court yesterday.
McGregor hasn’t competed since a fourth round submission loss to UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. McGregor, during a recent press event in Russia, stated that he is going to be back in action this January, with Donald Cerrone being the front runner as the opponent.
Although this legal issue can now be put behind him, other issues such as a pair of sexual assault allegations are looming over the fighter at this time.
