UFC Veteran Dan Spohn Saves Neighbors From House Fire

UFC veteran Dan Spohn is flying to Las Vegas today and is preparing for his role as a backup for PFL 9, as he will only compete if one of the fighters in the playoffs misses weight or cannot compete for a different reason.

However, a potentially soon to be fighting Spohn saved his neighbors from a fire that engulfed their house this past Saturday. Spohn reportedly saved members of the unnamed family and even saved their pets as well before the firefighters arrived.

“It was pretty hard to see in there, it was about ready to fill up with smoke on the inside, I didn’t think it was that bad,” Spohn said to Bluegrass MMA. “But it was already pretty bad. I just had to cover my mouth up a little bit and run through and just flash my light through and find all the people I could. I hollered out through all the buildings and upstairs, and I just had to get out of there after that.”

Spohn was coming home after working a 16 hour shift at a prison and despite risking his life, still reported to work the next day. Spohn has an 18-7-0 record as a professional MMA fighter, appearing in such promotions as the UFC, Bellator MMA, PFL and more during his near decade career.
