Viewership For 10/23 AEW Dynamite & NXT Down; Ratings In 18-49 Demo For Both Shows Slightly Up
With competition from the World Series and NBA, both AEW and NXT had declining viewership for their most recent episodes.
According to Showbuzz Daily, the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 963,000 viewers and a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Although the viewership is down from the October 16 episode of AEW Dynamite which averaged 1.014 million viewers the rating in the 18-49 demographic is slightly higher from the 0.44 rating the week prior drew. The show finished fourth on cable for the day in the 18-49 demographic.
AEW Dynamite saw the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament finals get set with Lucha Bros and SCU meeting for the inaugural titles on the October 30 episode. In the main event, Jon Moxley and PAC wrestled to a time limit draw.
As for NXT, the October 23 episode drew 698,000 viewers, down from the 712,000 viewers the October 16 show averaged. The October 23 episode saw a slight ratings increase in the 18-49 demographic, drawing a 0.21 rating, which was good for 21st best on cable for the day.
NXT crowned a new No. 1 contender to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox will face The Kabuki Warriors. In the main event, Roderick Strong retained his NXT North American Championship by defeating both Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic in a triple threat match.
The World Series, which aired on FOX, averaged more than 10 million viewers while the Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers game on ESPN averaged 1.698 million viewers and was the highest-rated broadcast on cable in the 18-49 demographic for the day.
