Impact Wrestling Referee Kris Levin Talks Getting Support From Knockouts Division
When looking at Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts division, there is perhaps few people within the company that have as good an insight into them as referee Kris Levin.
Levin spoke with Andrew Thompson of Post Wrestling and talked about the depth of the Knockouts division ahead of the Bound for Glory show on October 20. Levin spoke about how the company’s female roster trusted him as he started refereeing for Impact. After working with them for several matches starting out, Levin is firm in his assessment of the Knockouts, calling it a stacked division.
“They don’t know if they can trust you to take care of your end of things. Especially the way we came in when all the IMPACT referees were let go then they brought in a totally new crew. But it was the Knockouts division — particularly Laurel Van Ness [Chelsea Green] and Gail Kim and Rosemary that pulled me in and were like, ‘Hey, this is our guy’, after I started working with them a few times, and as long as I’ve been there, I always thought the women’s division was stacked and it’s no different now. It’s crazy because you know, a lot of the times, not as much recently but when I was coming up in the business, if there’s a women’s match on the show, it’s one match, and now I go to a TV taping… and let’s say a third of the roster are women and that’s represented in the match-ups because a third of the matches we tape are also women’s wrestling,” Levin said.
Bound for Glory will not only feature a Knockouts Championship match between Taya Valkyrie and Tenille Dashwood, but also have Tessa Blanchard be in a ladder match for the X Division Championship. Fightful will have live coverage of Bound for Glory, taking place on October 20. The full interview between Levin and Post Wrestling can be read at this link.
